Weekend in Dorset
Went down to Dorset for the weekend, it was a long drive but well worth it. Walked around the town and saw the local church, gorgeous stone houses and friendly locals. The pub next to the YHA we stayed at in Litton Cheney was brilliant. We had dinner there on the Saturday evening and the staff were so nice and friendly.
On Sunday we went to Monkey World, somewhere I had been busting to go to ever since we started watching the TV program on the Animal Planet channel. It is such a great place and so well set up. It was getting packed even as we arrived at 10am on the start of a brilliant sunny day.
We had something to eat first and then wandered around, saw all the guys and gals we had come to know and love from the TV program and met lots of new ones too.
The nursery was the best one to watch, those lil monkeys are so naughty and cute, playing with each other, it cracks me up watching them. Also saw the Foster Mum, Sally – she is so cool, what a personality – looking after all those kids.
We saw Charlie too which was cool, and all his buddys in the bachelor group.
I got some great pics of the new baby Orangutan. (see below) Also saw Tuan, he doesn’t look as big in real life as on the TV though.
THEN came the whole highlight of the day, seeing Jeremy Keeling!! I seriously dig that guy, he is such a sweetie to all those apes. It was Steve who spotted him first but he had gone inside. I insisted we wait so I can get a picture of him. Anyways my patience paid off because he came out with some bucket to water some plants right by us!!
I said ‘Sorry Jeremy!’ Because I was happily snapping off pics of him like he was a pin up God, he said jokingly ‘No your not, or you wouldn’t do it!’ and everyone laughed. Then mum says ‘Your better looking in real life than on TV’ to which he asked her to repeat that which she did and he says ‘Oh I thought you got it the wrong way around, was going to put that bucket on you’ hahha, funny guy.
So I was muchly happy cuz I think he is an awesome guy. Sad we didn’t get to see Jim or Alison though, maybe next time!
;)
Well anyways I have so much work to do so I better stop gabbering and get after it. Here are 3 of my fav pics I took.

You got to SEE Jeremy? The guy’s my idol. Sally as well, oh man are you lucky :D
I love the baby Orangutan picture :D Brilliant shot!
I used to watch the Monkey World program when I got home from work.. about 2-3 months ago. So it’s pretty cool to realise it’s within visiting reach for you. Jealous again, hehe
