It’s taken me forever to get around to fixing Flash on my Macbook Pro and usually I just forget trying to look at whatever I want to because I try to install it from the pop up but it never works. But today it annoyed the crap out of me enough to sort it out once and for all.
Seeing as it took me a while to locate all the information from the various places I figured I would save you the hassle to doing the same and just post the steps that worked for me here.
Step 1: You need to uninstall Flash so visit this link and follow the instructions: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-mac-os.html
Make sure you do check the directories in Library are deleted and empty your trash. Restart your computer.
Step 2: Check that Flash has been removed from your computer via this link following Point 1 only: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
Step 3: Download manually the version of Flash you require here: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg and install
Step 4: Check that Flash has been installed correctly via this link: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
Step 5: Follow Point 4 to Enable Flash Player in your browser of choice here: https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player.html
Voila! That should work for you too. You should see the image in Point 5 and see it is working.
