Facts about today
June 29th, 2005 by Rose* My computer sucks. Actually more to the point, Microsoft sucks. Again I am preparing for a reinstall – all because of MS’s determination to look for connections when they have been disabled/deleted and making me wait each time I browse a few minutes, amongst other problems MS XP has been causing me.
* God chucked down ice cubes from the sky this afternoon. Hail stones like ice cubes were pelted down on unsuspecting pedestrians after work tonight (me included although I was under the safety of the bus shelter).
* The bus was late again this morning, and this afternoon.
* We have on top of our fridge 19 take-away menu’s for various resteraunts and take-aways in our local area which come through the letterbox all the time.
* Frosties snack bars are delicious.
Customer Un-Service
June 21st, 2005 by RoseI’ve decided the only way to retain my sanity it to change my thinking.
From now on I am not going to expect a basic level of customer service from any company I deal with.
I’m sick of being told someone will call me back – and they don’t (and having it happen over the course of a number of days); explaining my issue to someone on the phone only to have them blind transfer me to someone who has nothing to do with resolving my problem; being told a service will be expected in a certain time and have it go way overtime with not even so much as a courtesy call… the ironic thing is, that if you didn’t pay them on time – they would be after you without a moments hesitation.
The sad thing is, you can’t even change companies these days, because they are all as bad as each other. You could complain until the cows come home and they still wouldn’t give a toss what your needs are as a customer or consumer.
I’ve made it my mission to create a comprehensive Customer Service Charter for our company to ensure that at the very least, our customers will not have to be exposed to the disgusting level of service other companies impart onto PAYING customers.

June 18th, 2005 by RoseHave just got back from waving Mumma off at the airport. We’re really going to miss her, she is such great company. Won’t see her again now until (hopefully) in November.

Douglas Wood released! *yay*
June 16th, 2005 by RoseI was so pleased to hear last night that Australian man Douglas Wood had finally been released from captors in Iraq. Six weeks his ordeal lasted and finally he was able to be reunited with his family.
All this war is nasty business and I hope and pray that it will stop all the suffering they bring right around the world.

Weekend in Dorset
June 13th, 2005 by RoseWent down to Dorset for the weekend, it was a long drive but well worth it. Walked around the town and saw the local church, gorgeous stone houses and friendly locals. The pub next to the YHA we stayed at in Litton Cheney was brilliant. We had dinner there on the Saturday evening and the staff were so nice and friendly.
On Sunday we went to Monkey World, somewhere I had been busting to go to ever since we started watching the TV program on the Animal Planet channel. It is such a great place and so well set up. It was getting packed even as we arrived at 10am on the start of a brilliant sunny day.
We had something to eat first and then wandered around, saw all the guys and gals we had come to know and love from the TV program and met lots of new ones too.
The nursery was the best one to watch, those lil monkeys are so naughty and cute, playing with each other, it cracks me up watching them. Also saw the Foster Mum, Sally – she is so cool, what a personality – looking after all those kids.
We saw Charlie too which was cool, and all his buddys in the bachelor group.
I got some great pics of the new baby Orangutan. (see below) Also saw Tuan, he doesn’t look as big in real life as on the TV though.
THEN came the whole highlight of the day, seeing Jeremy Keeling!! I seriously dig that guy, he is such a sweetie to all those apes. It was Steve who spotted him first but he had gone inside. I insisted we wait so I can get a picture of him. Anyways my patience paid off because he came out with some bucket to water some plants right by us!!
I said ‘Sorry Jeremy!’ Because I was happily snapping off pics of him like he was a pin up God, he said jokingly ‘No your not, or you wouldn’t do it!’ and everyone laughed. Then mum says ‘Your better looking in real life than on TV’ to which he asked her to repeat that which she did and he says ‘Oh I thought you got it the wrong way around, was going to put that bucket on you’ hahha, funny guy.
So I was muchly happy cuz I think he is an awesome guy. Sad we didn’t get to see Jim or Alison though, maybe next time!
;)
Well anyways I have so much work to do so I better stop gabbering and get after it. Here are 3 of my fav pics I took.

Woah!
June 7th, 2005 by RoseSteve asked me to marry him last night :D
I said yes (of course!)
No wedding date set, and a nice long engagement will be had for a few years so we can get our finances sorted out and decide what country we are going to live in.
I am so blessed :D
